“Spiace leggere che sempre più soggetti istituzionali tra cui il sottosegretario Vittorio Sgarbi propongono, a vario titolo, di abbandonare la realizzazione della Loggia Isozaki, progetto vincitore del concorso del 1998, senza che qualcuno spieghi se e come sono cambiate le esigenze che avevano dettato a suo tempo la necessità di bandire un concorso internazionale per la sistemazione del piazzale di uscita della Galleria degli Uffizi su piazza Castellani”. Lo hanno detto i presidenti di Ordine e Fondazione Architetti Firenze Andrea Crociani e Silvia Ricceri, sottolineando che “in mancanza di una condizione oggettiva di mutate condizioni e necessità risulta difficile comprendere le ragioni di queste prese di posizione che, senza una precisa motivazione, appaiono del tutto arbitrarie”.

Il sottosegretario Sgarbi oltre a ritenersi contrario al progetto di Isozaki ha avanzato la proposta di risolvere l’uscita degli Uffizi con un progetto leggero e ‘verde’. Ordine e Fondazione si sono occupati della vicenda fin dal 2013, organizzando anche nel marzo 2019 un evento con l’architetto Andrea Maffei, partner e responsabile di tutti i progetti italiani dell’architetto Arata Isozaki.
